Keith Knight offers a brilliant solution to the auto industry crisis. For those of us who like to ride on trains and are aging baby-boomers, it looks great!

A rail system across North America is a wonderful dream...I do miss travelling in Europe, it was just so easy!!
What a wonderful solution to the problems. It will never happen of course because the prpose of government is to create wealth for a few individuals but it would be a great solution.
Good luck with that. Same applies to Australia. SUV's are still the preferred transport method for mum's to take their kids to school. I'm talking urban Australia here, like inner city Brisbane, not Outback.
I hate to say it for all of the jobs that would be lost, but I'm all for letting the automakers figure it out for themselves. The credit bailout was a joke, this is a joke... Survival of the fittest, I say!
Hey, as much as it sucks... Let the big three crash and burn. It's capitalism, or survival of the fittest. Seriously. I was totally against the bailout of the mortgage industry, I'm not fond of this idea, where the hell do we stop? Furthermore, if you're going to dole out money, why not to the people who paid into it in the first place, don't just line the golden pockets.
What a great comic! But U$28 million...? I am going to be sick.
Where I am, they are building more, wider roads to solve the traffic problems, or to facilitate the use of cars for commuting!?!?
Work that one out!
Funny. I would ride the rail system. It was a great experience in Europe.
It seems the car companies need closer to US$ 34 billion to hang on...
I used the rail system extensively in Germany and if you have to choose between what you are going to subsidize, I think a rail system like this makes sense.
