While cycling in Alsace in 2007, we discovered the joys of the macaron, the sweet confectionary that seems to be everywhere in France. Apparently it is coming across the Atlantic to North America now and is being touted as the Next Cupcake, according to this
article in Salon. We shall see. I do not think macarons lend themselves to industrial manufacturing and I also recall that bagels were going to be the Next Hamburger and that didn't really happen. In any event, Dr. Chef and I have happy memories of macaroning...
